Winterfire and Community Outreach made April definitely a Nugen month
Ever wondered what these Nugens are doing lately? I’m so sorry to disappoint you guys but we aren’t just constantly updating our Facebook statuses! Haha. We’ve been very busy in spearheading two major events in the Nugen history of JCTGBTG Church International! For Nugen Absentees *wink*, here’s what you missed…
Last April 4, the Nugen team visited the Payatas community, all for the love and glory of God. That Sunday marked the first ever “Ikaw Naman!” activity of our church. Ikaw Naman! is a project that sprung from the Nugen hearts’ desire to make a more visible commitment to our marginalized brothers and sisters, ages 4 to 12. We dedicated one Sunday every month for this very special project of ours. Story telling, dancing, singing, and playing with these kids are really therapeutic and detoxifying! Spreading God’s love with your friends and with these little kids, how cool is that huh? =)
Since we really are very serious with this project, we didn’t want it to begin just like that. Of course we wanted to make a greater impact in order for other Nugens out there to join our cause. With this in mind, the first ever Winterfire for the year 2010 was held last April 30, at our newly built Church Center, entitled Move2Move. This event served as the official launching of “Ikaw Naman!” project. The entire event was centered on how important it is for Christians to move so that the Spirit of God could move as well. Our positive movements as Christians will definitely have positive effects on everyone around us. Therefore, we must actively participate in activities such as this so that God will be further glorified.
Honestly, the joy that we get from being an active Nugen member couldn’t be captured in such a short write-up. We dare every Nugen out there to stand-up and really make a statement for God. Gone are the days where all we do is attend our church’s regular services. Let us now push behind the four walls of our church and actively involve ourselves in reaching out to our fellow Filipino brethrens. Who knows? In doing this, you might be able to finally find the spiritual maturity you’ve been praying for all this time!
